Boys' volleyball: Oaks Christian's Franciskovic makes college choice

Oaks Christian outside hitter Carter Franciskovic has committed to UCLA.

Franciskovic is receiving an academic scholarship and is one of four top recruits for the 2011 class.

Franciskovic had several offers from school around the country but ultimately decided to stay close to home although New York University was right there at the end.

Franciskovic is the senior captain of the Oaks Christian team that is trying to force a first place tie with Oak Park atop the Tri-Valley League standings.

The Lions square off with the Eagles Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Oak Park.
