In her final tuneup before the Mission League prelims and finals, Harvard-Westlake junior distance runner Cami Chapus delivered another exceptional performance in the Wolverines' dual meet Thursday against Marymount.

Chapus clocked a school-record 10 minutes, 19.47 seconds in the 3,200 meters to improve upon Lindsay Flacks' mark of 10:24.14 set at the 2004 Golden West Invitational.

Chapus, who already set the school record March 26 in the 1,600 by running 4:51.66 at the Mount Carmel Invitational in San Diego, moved up to No. 2 in the state -- behind national-leader Sarah Baxter of Simi Valley (10:14.11) -- and third on the country's outdoor 3,200 performance list this season.

It is the fifth school-record performance this year for Chapus, who has also run on national-leading 1,600-meter sprint medley, distance medley and 4 x 800 relays. Chapus also ran on Harvard-Westlake's school-record 800-meter sprint medley relay in a March 16 dual meet at Oaks Christian.

Hilary King also regained her school record from Lauren Hansson in the 100-meter dash, running 12.40. The Duke-bound Hansson has set or been a part of 10 school records in her career.
