Boys' basketball: Summer events heating up. There are plenty in the region in June

If you love basketball there is plenty of it during the month of June.

These are the events to be at if you want a sneak peak at some of the best teams and players in the region.

Oaks Christian summer tip-off, June 10-12
20 teams participating, 3-4 games each
Action starts Friday June 10 at 5 p.m., Saturday at 10 a.m., Sunday at 2 p.m.

Crespi "summer thing", June 14-18
Five games every day starting at 2 p.m. except Sat. June 18 will be three games starting at 10:30 a.m.

Moorpark College tournament, June 18-19
16-team bracket style. Each team plays two games each day. 9 a.m. start both days with the championship schedule for 7:30 p.m. Sunday night.

War on the Floor, June 18-20 at Pierce College in Woodland Hills
16 teams, pool play and bracket play. Games start at 9 a.m. Sat. June 18 and 19.
Mon. June 20 starts at 12 p.m. with the championship game scheduled for 8 p.m.

Oaks Christian "To the Rack Invitational", June 24-26
16-teams scheduled. Pool play and bracket play. 38 total games.

Nike Fairfax Summer Classic, June 27-July 2.
16-team bracket style. A record eight San Fernando Valley region schools participating with some of the best in Southern California.
Games begin at 4 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and then 9 a.m. on Fri. and Sat.
Championship is Sat. July 2 at 6 p.m.

If that isn't enough basketball to get you to the 4th of July holiday, then I wish you luck.
