Girls' basketball: Higgins taking over at L.A. Baptist

Sherry Higgins is the new coach at L.A. Baptist in North Hills.

Higgins replaces Jerry DeLaurie, who lasted one season.

Higgins is the wife of former Reseda high and current Compton College coach Keith Higgins.

Sherry was recently a junior high coach at Harvard-Westlake.

Sherry is heavily involved with the California Heat club program and her daughter is one of the best junior high prospects in the region.
