BOYS' BASKETBALL: What could have been at Sierra Canyon

| | Comments (0) |

There is no doubt Sierra Canyon will have a very good basketball team this season with Julian Brooks, Jesse Howell and junior point guard Jahmel Taylor.

However, imagine what the team could have accomplished had six super sophomores not left before ninth grade or transferred out.

Parker Jackson-Cartwright and Derrick Newton didn't stick around after junior high and enrolled at Loyola and Harvard-Westlake, respectively.

USC recruit Devin Burleson and guard Namon Wright left after a brief stay in September of 2010 and enrolled at Price before transferring to Pacific Hills in January of 2011.

Bryan Alberts and Marsalis Johnson recently left for Village Christian this week.

It could have been a possible nationally-ranked team.

Footnote: Former Montclair Prep guard Trey Dickerson decided Friday to attend Sierra Canyon.

Burleson and Wright are expected to transfer to Highland of Palmdale for this season.
