GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Plummer takes over at Oaks Christian

Kenny Plummer has been named the new girls' basketball coach at Oaks Christian, according to Lions athletic director Jan Hethcock.

Plummer replaces Mario Trutanic Jr., who accepted an assistant women's basketball coaching position at Cal State Northridge.

Plummer guided the Lions during the summer following Trutanic's departure and served as an assistant on last year's Oaks Christian team that finished 25-9, reaching the Southern Section Div. IV-A final, losing to St. Anthony.

"After an exhaustive interview process, coach Plummer clearly was the best candidate to take over the girls basketball program," Hethcock said. "Plummer's philosophy and coaching style is coupled with his experience and knowledge of the program that he helped put in place with coach Trutanic last year. Kenny is an exceptional individual and an excellent coach; I am very pleased that he has come on board as our new head coach for the Lady Lions."
