HS FOOTBALL: At Saugus, it's a wrap

| | Comments (0) |

Saugus pulled out a 31-20 victory Thursday over Burroughs, but only after surrendering 277 yards rushing to unsung Zander Anding -- not including Anding's 84-yard kick return for a touchdown.

The Centurions need to tighten their defense, and it better come sooner than later because next is Muir, featuring Washington-bound running back Tarien Owens.

"We were disappointed about the big plays, but we know what we need to do," Saugus defensive back Scott Hamilton. "We're going to work on tackling in practice. We'll get there. I think for the first game, it was a little sloppy but it was pretty good.

"We got better as the game progressed and kind of picked it up at the end. We're going to be one of the better teams in the Foothill League."
