HS FOOTBALL: QB competition at Oaks Christian

| | Comments (0) |

Luke Falk, a touted junior transfer from Utah, has been Oaks Christian's starting quarterback since the summer, but now coach Bill Redell is not so sure. He pulled Falk and used backup Brandon Dawkins extensively Friday in a win over Agoura, and Redell said he will decide Wednesday night whom the starting quarterback will be for a heavily anticipated Marmonte showdown Friday against visiting St. Bonaventure.

"It depends how they practice. They're both very capable," Redell said. "I kind of think that right now we have two starters, and they'll probably both play quite a bit for the entire year."

In the win over Agoura, Dawkins, a sophomore, entered midway through the first quarter with Oaks Christian down 3-0, and he soon helped the Lions to a 40-point halftime lead, eventually finishing completing 7 of 7 passes for 129 yards and three touchdowns.
