HS FOOTBALL: Westlake outlasts Del Oro in overtime

| | Comments (0) |

Westlake's football team survived its trip Saturday night to Loomis, defeating Del Oro 30-27 in overtime.

Alex Ball kicked a 27-yard field goal in the extra period to lift the Warriors after having a field goal attempt blocked late in regulation.

Ball missed a 41-yard field goal attempt off the right goal post in the Southern Section Northern Division final last year that would have secured the title for Westlake. Instead, Oaks Christian held on for a 29-28 victory.

Westlake returns to action Sept. 16 against Calabasas.
