BOYS' BASKETBALL: Watch out for Viewpoint in the Liberty League

| | Comments (0) |

Don't just hand over the league championship to Buckley in the Liberty League.

Providence and Viewpoint will be major players in the race for the league title.

Buckley lost sophomore guard Larry Bush to Westlake and graduated forward Nick de Bonfilhs, after a run to the Div. IV-A championship game, in which it lost to Oaks Christian, 66-48.

Providence has talented guard Patrick Gonzalez back and added two new players, Christopher Ware-Berry from El Camino Real and freshman guard Marcus Lovette.

Viewpoint is a team on the rise under the direction of coach J.J. Prince.

Prince has four solid players at his disposal.

Jack Borentstein averaged 15.5 points and four assists a year ago, junior Jonny Paul averaged 13.5 points, sophomore Tim Howell contributed on varsity as a freshman and incoming freshman Stone Spellman has athleticism and great potential.

The Liberty League championship is up for grabs.
