BOYS' SOCCER: Ritson resigns as La Canada coach

| | Comments (0) |

After leading the La Canada boys' soccer team to a 24-1-2 record, a Rio Hondo League title and an appearance in the Southern Section Div. V quarterfinals last season, Barry Ritson has resigned as Spartans head coach to pursue other professional opportunities.

Ritson, also the director of coaching for Los Angeles Premier Futbol Club, guided La Canada to a 47-4-3 record in two seasons after coaching the Mayfield girls' soccer team from 2005-09.

No candidates to replace Ritson have been named. With the season scheduled to begin in less than five weeks, La Canada will be expeditious in its search to find a successor for Ritson, who replaced Jordan Jones following the 2008-09 season.
