HS FOOTBALL: Newbury Park still has life

| | Comments (0) |

After defeating Calabasas 37-13, Newbury Park (3-4) is still clinging to playoff hopes, as the Panthers are trying to maneuver their way through the high-powered, 10-team Marmonte League, in which half don't make the playoffs.

With three games left, the Panthers still must face leaders Westlake and Oaks Christian, but for now Newbury Park is savoring its success after finishing 3-7 last season, one game out of the cellar.

"It was a nice win against Calabasas," Newbury Park coach Gary Fabricius said. "We played well in all phases - offense, defense and special teams."
