CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK: Chapus joins Weissenbach at Stanford

Harvard-Westlake senior Cami Chapus, the two-time Div. IV state cross country champion and reigning state 1,600-meter champion, has decided to attend Stanford.

Chapus follows Harvard-Westlake teammate Amy Weissenbach, who decided to attend Stanford last week, to give the Cardinal one of the nation's elite recruiting classes.

Chapus and Weissenbach contributed to the Wolverines setting a national high school record in the distance medley relay, along with winning a national outdoor title in the sprint medley relay.

"I am extremely happy to become a Cardinal," Chapus said. "Stanford is the right fit for me academically, athletically and socially. I know I will thrive in a community filled with students who have diverse talents and an excitement for learning. With accomplished coaches and an amazing team, I anticipate great experiences in the future. I look forward to taking my running career to the next level in college and beyond!"
