HS FOOTBALL: Arleta's Coleman ties City Section record

| | Comments (0) |

Arleta High running back De'Jon Coleman tied the City Section record for most touchdowns in a single season Thursday in a 40-6 East Valley League regular season finale against Verdugo Hills.

Coleman entered with 42 touchdowns and tied the mark, held by Marlon Lucky of North Hollywood since 2004.

Coleman scored with 1:34 remaining on a 9-yard run and didn't play the rest of the way.

Coleman scored two quick touchdowns in the first quarter, and then was held scoreless until returning an interception 52 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.

Coleman will get a chance to break the record next Friday in a Div. I playoff opener.
