HS FOOTBALL: Valencia falls in first round

| | Comments (0) |

After advancing to the Northern semifinals in each of the past three seasons, Valencia lost 17-10 to Moorpark in the first round, a disappointing end to a disappointing season. The Vikings (6-5) played strong defense, but their new skill players did not develop as well as expected.

Of course, it's hard not to feel the graduation losses of two-time 3,000-yard quarterback Alex Bishop and all-state running back Steven Manfro, two of the Foothill League's best ever.
"It hurts really bad to know the season is over," Valencia defensive back Tedric Thompson said.
