BOYS' BASKETBALL: Birmingham slips by Ribet Academy

Birmingham is off to a 3-1 start after a 67-65 victory against Ribet Academy in the consolation championship of the Pasadena tournament.

Payam Ahmadi scored 20 points to lead eight Patriot players, who scored points.

Abrionn Webster made the game winning shot with eight seconds remaining on a driving runner through the lane.

Marcus Harris scored 11 points and Webster finished with 10 points for Birmingham.

Freshman Tyler Dorsey scored 20 points, including four 3-pointers to lead Ribet Academy (2-2).

Cedric Ranaivo scored 19 points, Loic Vaugirard scored 14 points and 6'9 sophomore forward Idrissa Diallo added 11 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out with 2:38 remaining for the Fighting Frogs.
