| | Comments (0) |

The Cleveland boys' basketball team might have been feeling the effects of playing its seventh game already in a 60-47 setback against host Santa Monica at the Santa Monica tournament Monday.

J.R. Williams scored 15 points and Osamu Igodan had 11 points to lead the Cavaliers (3-4), who were coming off a 1-3 showing at the Pasadena tournament.

The Cavaliers led 13-12 at the end of the first quarter, but were outscored 41-22 over the next two quarters.

Trey Thompson scored 13 points and Admassu Williams scored 10 points to lead Santa Monica, which split four games at the Redondo Union tournament last week.

Cleveland will face Palmdale at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in a consolation quarterfinal.

Santa Monica will square off against Fairfax Wednesday in a championship quarterfinal.
