BOYS' BASKETBALL: Freshmen LoVett, Jr. and Holiday are special

| | Comments (0) |

There is no denying the abundant talent of freshman Marcus LoVett, Jr. (Providence High) and Aaron Holiday (Campbell Hall).

LoVett poured in 41 points in a 59-57 first round setback against Eastside Catholic (Sammamish, Washington) at the Chaminade tournament.

Holiday scored 36 points in a 59-55 victory against Eastside High (Lancaster).

Both are special players.

Holiday plays with reckless abandon, can make something happen at anytime and is super-explosive to the basket.

LoVett, Jr. is about as smooth as they come.

A 5-foot-11 left-handed guard who can flat out score.

Fans in attendance Monday were hoping both teams would win, so there would be a Tuesday showdown between two of the nation's top ninth graders.

It didn't happen, but the talented guards are scheduled to square off Jan. 21 at Pierce College in Woodland Hills at the War on the Floor extravaganza. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
