BOYS' BASKETBALL: Get ready for Buckley and Providence

| | Comments (0) |

There are going to be some outstanding small-schools basketball games in the Liberty League this season.

Buckley and Providence are at the top of the list.

Buckley improved to 6-0 Saturday after a 41-38 victory against host University at the Jim Nakabara tournament.

Tyler Coppin-Carter, a junior forward, scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

It was Coppin-Carter's fourth consecutive double-double.

Providence is doing well, also.

The Pioneers lost to respected Orange Lutheran Saturday, 74-47, but just the fact the tiny school in Burbank is scheduling better is reason for hope.

Providence won its own tournament last Saturday in a 71-69 victory against San Marino.

Patrick Gonzales is a 3-point sharpshooter and freshman Marcus LoVett has been scoring in bunches.

LoVett is one of the best freshman in the country.

I can't wait for the two league contests
