HS FOOTBALL: Here's the weekend championship schedule

SOUTHERN SECTION FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

NORTHERN

Westlake (13-0) at Oaks Christian (11-2), 7:30 p.m. Friday - In a rematch of last year's final won by Oaks Christian, both teams have talented young QBs. Westlake junior Justin Moore has passed for 2,182 yards and 27 TDs, and he has scored 11 TDs. Oaks Christian's Brandon Dawkins, a sophomore, has passed for 2,514 yards and 29 TDs, and he scored six TDs.

Westlake has won 39 of its past 41 games. PK Alex Ball has 19 field goals.

EAST VALLEY

Sierra Canyon (13-0) vs. Paraclete (10-3) at Antelope Valley College, 7:30 p.m. Saturday - These Alpha League rivals know each other well. Sierra Canyon, led by QB Tyler Stewart , OL Andrew Terry and LB William Young, has won every game by 10 points or more but Paraclete has the respectability of having won eight titles - including a 14-7 win over Sierra Canyon in last year's championship.

NORTHEAST

Desert Christian (11-2) at Rio Hondo Prep (12-1), 7:30 p.m. Saturday - Desert Christian, led by RBs Chance Gusbeth and Kiel Alcarez, runs an effective wing-T offense and also relies on a physical defense.

Rio Hondo is 4-0 against Valley-area opponents, winning by an average margin of more than 40 points.
