HS FOOTBALL: Oaks Christian, St. Bonnie set for Northern showdown

It's a big one here in Ventura, as Oaks Christian faces St. Bonaventure in a Northern semifinal set to kick off in just a few minutes at Ventura High.

Oaks Christian defeated St. Bonnie 36-24 on Sept. 23. Both are in their second year in the Marmonte League, and the visiting Lions own a 3-1 series advantage.

The key could be defense, and that means Oaks Christian could use a big performance from some of its top hitters such as defensive lineman Marcus Jones, linebacker Carlos Mendoza and defensive backs Jordan Payton and Ishmael Adams.
