BOYS' BASKETBALL: Sierra Canyon copes without Johnson, Alberts

| | Comments (0) |

Sierra Canyon went 27-6 and won the Southern Section Div. V-A championship last season, and this year the Trailblazers are adjusting to life without Marsalis Johnson and Bryan Alberts, two top sophomores who transferred to Village Christian.

However, Sierra Canyon still has junior Jahmel Taylor, who is averaging 21.3 points and 4.2 assists despite not being 100 percent because of a leg injury.

"The team is coming together. We have good chemistry together," Taylor said. "We're focusing on defense and pressuring. Our goal is to constantly grow. As the leader of this team, I have to show an example to my teammates."
