BOYS' BASKETBALL: Watch out for Pacific Hills

| | Comments (0) |

One team that has flown under the radar in the Alpha League is Pacific Hills.

No longer.

The Bruins improved to 14-3 Monday after an easy 69-25 league victory against Sierra Canyon at Shepherd of the Hills Church in Porter Ranch.

Brandon Taylor scored 27 points to lead Pacific Hills, coached by former Bruins standout Ivan Barahona.

Pacific Hills has impressive victories against Harvard-Westlake, Bakersfield and Central (Fresno).

Pacific Hills also has talented guard Marcus Jackson.

The Bruins are ranked No. 1 in Div. IV-A and have squarely put themselves in the conversation with Windward for the league championship.

Pacific Hills will be in the region Saturday Jan. 21 at Pierce College for a showcase game against Sylmar.

Jahmel Taylor led the Trailblazers (10-9) with 12 points.

Sierra Canyon has lost five consecutive games, including its last two by 36 and 44 points.
