Despite multiple personal fouls and ejections on both sides in the second half, the East relied on the efforts of game MVP Christian Tago from Highland and team MVP De'Jon Coleman of Arleta to defeat the West 31-7 in the 16th annual Daily News high school football all-star game at College of the Canyons.

It marked the fifth consecutive victory for the East, which evened the annual series at 8-8.

Tago passed for 94 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 31 more yards, with Coleman rushing for 64 yards on eight carries and a touchdown.

West MVP Chris Harper of Crespi caught nine passes for 115 yards, with Sierra Canyon's Tyler Stewart completing 13 of 18 passes for 161 yards, along with rushing for a team-high 19 yards. Hart's Tim White caught the lone touchdown pass from Stewart for 24 yards.
