Calculate your new taxes under the state budget deal

How much will the new state budget cost you? Tax increases and higher vehicles license fees are part of the Legislature's solution to keep California in the black.

The Sacramento Bee has a great little online tool to calculate just what it will cost you. So much for that federal stimulus. One hand giveth, while the other taketh away.

The governor's income is at least 6 times my income but he would pay only about twice my added taxes under his plan. He is not required to provide his own car for employment.
All taxes, no matter what they are called (sales, fees etc.) are paid out of people's incomes so are actually "income" taxes. They should all be related to income size. The budget's taxes take a greater percentage from smaller incomes. Government should not be run on regressive taxes!
