I've been on vacation for a week, so I'm a little behind catching up on some City Hall and election news.
Here's one item that came as perhaps not a surprise -- 9th District City Council candidate Brad Shore, a 25-year employee of American Airlines, has been endorsed by the Association of Professional Flight Attendants. Shore has master's of psychology and works with airline employees who have faced "critical incidents. He is also a psychotherapist at St. Mary Medical Center, working with seniors.
Shore's other endorsements include former Vice Mayor Doug Drummond and Debbie Cook, the former mayor of Huntington Beach who ran for Congress last year.
Other candidates for North Long Beach's 9th District seat are incumbent Councilman Val Lerch, who is running a write-in campaign for a third term; Dan Pressburg, a financial consultant and former staff member for Lerch; and Steve Neal, a social worker with union ties who nearly beat Lerch in 2006.
