Fifth District City Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske has conducted an online survey of her constituents and learned that a majority of at least those who answered the poll want the city to have a lobbyist ordinance. the poll also shows that the majority believe public officials shouldn't be able to accept any gifts at all and that officials should have to report about any conversations they have with people involved in projects, contracts or legislation going before the council for approval.

The council will be voting on a recommendation by Schipske and 1st District Councilman Robert Garcia on Tuesday to have City Attorney Bob Shannon bring back recommendations about creating rules to regulate lobbyists and report on their activity at City Hall. Some council members are opening up to the idea, while others still say its unnecessary.

Check out the survey results here.
