A few days after City Prosecutor Thomas Reeves filed his intent to run for city attorney with the city clerk's office, City Attorney Bob Shannon has also filed his intent to run for a fourth term. Shannon has also picked up a big endorsement in the municipal legal world.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley is endorsing Shannon, the city attorney's campaign announced Wednesday. With rumors of Reeves getting some serious financial backing and Shannon an entrenched incumbent who appears to be building some key support, this could be quite a race. In fact, this may be the only real citywide race next year, and a heck of one to cover. I can't wait!
