After pretty much giving the shaft to Downey last week, Tesla Motors Co. CEO Elon Musk sent Downey city officials a letter this week telling them how great their city is, that there was nothing wrong with the Downey site for a proposed Tesla plant, and that "Downey is Awesome." First, let me say that no one at Downey asked me to write this, nor have they threatened Tesla in any way. They are good people and their sadness that Tesla will not be moving to their city sinks my heart too.
