If you saw my column today about campaign money being raised and spent in the 7th District City Council runoff race, you noticed that among James Johnson's funds is a $350 contribution from the Long Beach Business Journal. It's pretty unusual for media companies or journalists to donate to political campaigns, particularly when they actually cover that race or issue. The Business Journal did a Q&A with all of the 7th District candidates back in February - check it out here.

What do you think? Is it inappropriate for the Business Journal to give money to a candidate? Does it put into question the publication's election coverage? Or is it just expressing its Constitutional rights?
