I don't want to take anything away from any team, especially a team that has gotten as far as the CIF State championship bowl game like Grant, but Poly hasn't play Poly-esque football to this point in the game.

Defensively, the Jackrabbits have been tagged for 2 TDs on 66 yards rushing and 143 yards passing. Poly has been its own worst enemy, with anything but solid tackling and coverage that has left plenty to be desired, However, the defense does have a couple of takeaways and made a couple of other big plays toward the end of the half. If it can continue to improve, Poly will certainly stand a chance over the final 24 minutes.

Offensively, other than the one scoring drive, the Jackrabbits have done nothing, netting just 107 yards on 28 plays (about 3 yards per play, which includes a 65-yard TD strike). As the game as moved on, Poly is beginning to become rather one dimensional - surprisingly with long pass plays. Chuck-and-duck has got them a TD and receivers have been open deep, so there apparently is something there to take advantage of. No running game, though. Richardson has 6 carries for 12 yards, Barner 5 for 1 an Fennell 3 for -7.

But in saying all that, this is exactly how Poly (minus the passing) has done it in the playoffs, fall behind and rally down the stretch. I said it last week and I'll say it again, Poly has Grant right where it wants 'em.

Second half starts in 5 minutes
