Poly always comes through in the end. Let's see what Lakewood's excuses will be this time.

it's going to be a really tough game this week against lakewood high. as a student and a very active member with the football team i believe that lakewood would step up their game. poly high beat them earlier in the season and now since they are in semi-finals with us i bet lakewood would try some tricks on us but its ok in the end lakewood would say to poly (you guys played hard congrats on beating us again)..........lol

POLY of course!!!

Poly will win! If it comes down to the more talented team. Poly is used to playing in "big games" They have the better defense.Lakewood still remembers the last game and Poly will remind them on each play. Now! if it comes down to coaching! Poly will be in big trouble. Poly 28. Lakewood 21.

I was the starting offensive tackle on last years Long Beach Poly championship team. I gotta admit lakewood is a lot better this year especially with their running back Jerry Stone(i believe that's him) but the one thing we can never do is lose to anyone in the Moore League...not that's not possible it's just that we strive on dominating the league. Plus it's the semifinals and the team definitely won't take it lightly, especially since we barely won our last championship game 2-0 against orange lutheran. I believe Long Beach Poly has more than enough motivation to make this game nowhere near close but since their last few games they won but seven or less i feel this game is going to come down to a Poly victory by 7-10 pts. I definitely want to see a Poly-Orange Lutheran Final...A new rivalry is brewing...

GO JACKRABBITS! Poly will bring home the 'ship again. Lakewood Lancers don't stand a chance against the Moore Leagues top program.

Keep it going Coach Lara. Keep those youngsters believing and understanding the history of the program.

every one no poly the best team

Poly is a great team and Lakewood is red hot.

The last time the two teams played Lakewood was without 4 starters including running backs Stone and Long as well as safety Aviles and "D" lineman Young.
Early during the Poly game Lakewood lost senior captain and starting center Harpham and in the 3rd quarter lost senior right tackle Brothers. These players were all out against Jordon, but have been back for a few weeks now and are playing like it.

Lakewood is also using a new punter and long snapper since they last played Poly and they put in new plays for their offense every week.
Should make for a tough game since Poly has looked sluggish on offense and is down 4-5 starters since their last meeting.

Cerritos College is a great venue with larger seating capacity, newer "astro turf" and no charge for parking, unlike $6.00/car at Vet's.

Edge to Lakewood?

poly has been unimpressive this post season and lakewood is not the same team that played poly in the moore league opener, especially with jerry stone back. no team has a better shot to unseat poly than than the lancers. after 14 years of moore league supremecy...their time is up!!! LAKEWOOD WILL WIN

Poly isn't as good as they think they are..Bishop Amat proved that! Not taking anything away from their team, because they are one of the best in CIF, but its easy to be a great team when you're allowed to scout players..I mean come on they have been doing it for years, and people actuallly have the nerve to get excited over their Moore League win streak...Fact is Lakewood has been close for a number of years now, and in regards to the other comment posted, Lakewood will not be the team looking for the excuses, Poly will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO LANCERS!!!!!!! GET SOME!!!!

Two things. first anyone who thinks Poly's coaching is inferior to Lakewood is an Idiot! How many years has Raul Lara's teams played for the CIF championship and how many years has it been since a Lakewood Team beat a Poly team with Lara as a player or coach. As for Poly recruiting I doubt it. But I do have a question for you Lakewood guys. How many of your starters live across the street from Poly and how many of the rest of your team live in the Poly district. I would probably say half and that is a conservative answer.

Where does Poly get all this money and resources to recruit????

My friends a century of winning is the most effective recruiting tool!

Poly, nuff said.

I wouldnt venture to say who lives where..Dont know Im not psychic..Fact is I know they recruit, I was one of the players they were trying to recruit..You can say what you want to say, play the name calling games, but in the end Poly will lose..Lose the game, the Moore League streak and best of all their PRIDE!!!!

GO LANCERS...GET SOME!

ahahah now you might think that poly has it allll & you think that their gonna WIN no doubt about it. ahahah thats just dumb. NOW come on now after the way they have been playing their last two playoff GAMESSS. there gonna LOSSSE. yes their gonna lose to LAKEWOOD. poly & all you poly fans underastimate others teams and think they sukc but BISHOP AMOT & ESPERANZA clearly proved them wrong & they could have beaten poly but NOW its time for lakewood to shut them down & be the reall winners this friday at CERRITOS college. thats the TRUTH. lakewood willl take it alllllllllll THE WAAAAAY !

come on everone.poly is from the eastside(lbc) thats all i have to say

LAKEWOOD GOONA SMASH!!!
WITH JERRY BACK...ITS ALL GOOD!!

imma be real with ya, Flakewood looks impressive, but as long as ive been watching high shool football about 1985...when we played FONTANA at vets... and we lost 42-0. flakewood teams been jabbing there jaws for years. if im not mistaken...yall beensaying this since luther vandross and companys been juniors over there. "THIS IS THE YEAR". somebody tell Dfunk over there that MOORE LEAGUE is not all that fascinating...but its everything you lancers want. we will prevail, why? DEFENSE... its better then yours...O-LINE... its better then yours...BIG GAME EXPERIANCE...mission, and servites defense didn't put enough pressure on stroggins. we have no problem stopping the run. Flakewoods strengths plays right into our strengths. our strengths plays right into your weakness. RUN DEFENSE....hmmmm GOOOOOOOOO JACKuUPRabbits...baybay...POLY 31-7

who cares, winner will lose to orange lutheran anyway..both teams have players out of there area..

The guy who thinks Poly recruits is crazy. The guy who says a century of winning is all they need, is correct. from reading this blog lakewood is talking like they always do and poly is gonna prove them wrong on the field, nuff said. Yea, poly has been close in the past 2 playoff games, but they won right? they know how to win, they know how to win championships, to make big plays and to shut people up.

Go Poly

All you Poly fans are NUTS! This is Lakewoods year. After personaly watching them demolish MVHS with ease, and not just on the offensive end, I've come to the conclussion that there is only one team in D1 that can play with LHS, and that's Tesoro. Good luck Jackrabbits taking on this Lancer team with a whole new look! Plus this Poly team is nothing compaired to the great Poly teams of the past. Such as that 98 team I was so lucky to face. This is only the beggining of the end for a great powerhouseby the name of POLY!!!

Lakewood beating Poly is like UCLA beating USC.
Possible, but not probable. Could happen, but ...

If Lakewood wins, big deal! If Poly wins, ho-hum.

Congrats to Lkwd for getting this far,and to Mr. Stone for getting himself eligible again. The bottom line is Lkwds offensive and defensive lineman know what is coming friday. A game like this comes down to big man on big man and nobody does it better than the bunnies. Poly is too deep and too talented for the lancers. Lkwd must play perfect football or this is gonna be like what SC did to Notre Dame last week.

This game is going to be remembererd 30 years from now. Each turning point will haunt someone for decades. This is the game that the players involved grandchildren will be talking about. My son has had the Privledge of playing both teams, and he believes both are great. He has a lot of friends on Poly's team, and my childhood friend son is the Starting QB at Lakewood, I love both teams, and I really cheer opening for Daveon, George and Jerry Stone. I am so saddened that one of these teams have to lose. It is the biggest Los Angeles County football game since Crenshaw vs Dorsey of the 90's.....It's reminiscint of Carson vs Banning. Good luck both teams. Cerritos College is a great field. Now, If you have game film of Long Beach Wilson and you see #65 making a tackle or a sack, That big 6 foot 4 235 lbs late bloomer is planning on Walking on to a 4 year school and earning a scholarship the old fashion way. If not, he will sign up for enough grants and loans and whatevers and study his butt off to walk away 4 1/2 years from now with 1) a college degree 2) experience College Football 3) little or none student loan. I will sign up for parent loans up the wazoooo, so he will not be in dept. I can take some dept. I dont want him to leave college owing to much. Peace. Remember, Moore League is Family, so lets play but remember,we are all family. So lets pray to God no one gets hurt, and may the best team win. and then we all come together a week from the game and fill up the home depot and cheer against the OC.

Poly and Lakewood? Who would have thunk? This is going to be a very good game no matter what anyone says. Even though lots of people think POly is a dominant school(myself included) you always have to look out for an upset. Lakewood has a good team as does Poly. I say Poly wins. 'Nuff said.

lakewood vs poly

banning vs carson..back the in seventies and eighties

banning of the seventies...there was no greater team

to bad there is no real state championship..

no way to ever no who is the best of the best.

how bout everybody shut up and leave it to the players...enough talking wit yo mouth
all i gots to say is we gon be doing our talking wit our helmets!!

game time...every year they say its lakewood turn, lakewood chance since 2004!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its the year etc for lakewood...wen game time comes...poly know BEST. if u ever attend poly, you know the atmosphere the week of a big moore league game vs lakewood...POLY WIN duh!

The Press Telegram Shadow has picked Lakewood to edge Poly on Friday, stating Lakewood is "hot," and Poly is "limping." I have to agree with him in some regard, Lakewood is hot and their confidence has to be sky high after beating two quality opponents. They are well coached, have a talented squad, and have come close at times to beating Poly over the last six years. They are currently, in fact, a very capable team that Poly has a lot of respect for--as they do all the opponents who they meet head-to-head on the playing field. However, his comment regarding Poly, "limping," does not adequately take into account the level of the competition they have faced not only the last two weeks, but over the entire year. They started the year by traveling to Florida and beating last year's high school national leader in the polls. During the year they met and held off one of last year's California state champions--a team in the North still in the hunt this year. Over the last two weeks they have beaten two very tough opponents in what many believe is the strongest grouping of high school teams in the nation--the Pac 5. Bishop Amat may have made it in by a coin toss, but they are one of the very finest teams I've ever seen Poly play. They came in having fumbled to their opponents only once in ten games, having a pass interception percentage lower than 3%, 1000+ yards for the season both running and passing, and with a game plan that took away much of Poly's strong running attack for an extended portion of the game. They played an almost flawless game and when it was over no-one in the Poly stands who watched it would have felt cheated had they won--but they didn't. Poly still found a way to win that game as they have every game since early last year. Turnovers will be important in this game, as in any high school or college game, as they create momentum. You can't give the ball up multiple times and expect to win. The Shadow mentioned defense being the key. I agree, and I can tell you that this is the best "team" defense I have seen at Poly. Yes, you can look back to past years and list the names of individual standouts, but if defense determines who will win this game, I wouldn't want to bet against Poly. Poly hasn't been "limping," they've been playing outstanding football and making big time plays against great opponents.

POLY! No other way. With our family history of Poly grads dating back to 42' to our current #11. There is no way poly will lose. Once a sparring partner always a sparring parther! AC11, Mr Jones, GDL, Bring the pain.

You know that POLY JACKRABBITS are gonna kick Lakewood's butt!

Lakewood will win this game,if it was the best out of three Poly would maybe win.But Lakewood is very balanced and has a good D. as a poly grad i hope poly wins. But Lakewood has a chance to do something special and have the coaching and talent to do it. Kinda like Boston celtics last year.

POLY WILL WIN BIG AND LAKEWOOD WIIL HAVE TO ANSWER , WHY CAN'T WE BEAT POLY. POLY KNOWS HOW TO PLAY IN BIG GAMES. POLY # 1 cLASS OF 71

A lot of people think that Lakewood is intimidated, but I don't think that's the case anymore. Coach MacNeal has instilled confidence in these boys and I don't think they're afraid of anybody. They're ready to play and they can win this game. If you know you're going to pounded, then you will be scared. But, if you know that you can pound somebody right back, then there's nothing to be afraid of. This Lakewood team has some serious talent and they aren't afraid of this year's Poly team. I don't think the Poly tradition matters this year. It's 2008 Lakewood against 2008 Poly and I don't think Lakewood is scared. They probably wish this game was tonight! They're going to go out and play smart football. They respect Poly, but they're going to look Poly straight in the eye and go toe-to-toe. May the best team win.

Lakewood has dominated Moore League baseball for years, and this year's football squad is ready to show up in a big way.

Ummm, Poly!

Are you kidding me, Poly has been recruiting for years. There booster club and there alumni assn. have alot of pull and money. So they have alot to offer outside players. Of course they deny it and god forbid anybody look into it. Enough said, we all know it's true and if Lakewood has any Poly players you can be sure that we did not recruit them, they came to Lakewood to play and not sit on the bench. I guess Lakewood has done well with Polys cast offs, if that is even true. Good Luck Lakewood!

Although Poly has dominated the football field for many years their reign has come to a end.
Move over jackrabbits the throne now belongs to the LANCERS.

GO BIG RED

I want Lakewood to win cuz we played them earlier in the year and i want to say that we played tough against a Pac-5 finalist who had all their players eligible at the time. But they probably won't win because Poly has a psychological stranglehold against any Moore league team they play which is an advantage coming into the game and will probably affect Lakewood throughout the game.

Poly is going to win, but they need to put more effort into scoring sooner rather than waiting for the other team to score first. This way Poly can beat Lakewood a lot faster and with an over all better game.

im still amazed that some people think poly recruits players....what do we have to offer? its a public school..its free. the only thing we have to offer is a championship, which poly will win. and if winning games is considered recruiting then i will admit, poly has been doing it for a long time then.

GO Poly

It's been how long ???? The only way flakewood wins is if they change the stripes on their helmets from being front to back to side to side.

Don't worry about it bothering someone who loses Friday night. Everyone will forget about it.

Never bothered Jerry Jasso after getting his butt kicked by the Lancers in '68.

ok really? what kind of debate is this? Poly will win just like any other moore league game. You might say Poly is "limping" but have we lost? NO. Poly is undefeated and the win against bishop amot has only made the players stronger. The comeback in that game was awesome! Sorry to say that we won't need a comeback for this game it'll be a BLOWOUT!
GO POLY GO GO!

I think a lot of people will concur that it's literally divine right for Poly to be at the Big A in a few weeks, but I'm sticking to my alma mater to the end. Have fun at the Falcons' Nest, Lancers.

Wasn't the last time Lakewood was truly favored over Poly in football, Pete Tereschuk was the QB in '72? I believe Tony Hill led the rabbits to an improbable homecoming win that evening. With that said, maybe it's the Lancers destiny to return the favor. albeit 36 yrs later. Naww, Poly somehow pulls another one out!

i aint doubt nobody,
yeah poly we good, but Lakewoods gotten tough, & its going to be a fair ass game. idk im def a poly fan but theres no more underestimating lakewood ya'll, they proved a lot. shooot, getting 4 games taken away and coming this far, thats some fairy tale shitt.

go poly & lakewood.

well, im suprised The P-T hasnt already called the game for Poly. bcuz they are biased beyond believe. why is that whenever Poly squeaks out a win, they write it up as an 'off night' and not just that they arent as invincible as everyone likes to believe?

Being a 1st generation baby boomer and being born and growing up in the Poly community I have seen alot of teams try to dethrong the Jackrabbits with little success. It is a shame Lakewood decided to host the game at Cerritos. This game should be played in Long Beach. Lakewood like it or not you are a part of the Beach. If they think they will have an advantage, check the record books Poly has been very successful playing at Cerritos. Poly ambition is to play for a State title and maintain their NATIONAL recogntion this desire will fuel their effort. Poly WIN one for Coach Don. Lakewood how many academic football players do you have playing division one football?
POLY, "HOME OF SCHOLARS AND CHAMPS"

Recruit? Who needs to recruit with over 100 years of superior ACADEMICS and athletics? You haven't a clue! Generation after generation of families attend Poly, not only for the school's stellar athletic performances & rigorous college prep curriculum, but also for the rich tradition and history that 1600 Atlantic Ave holds in the hearts of the city! The STUDENT ATHLETE WANTS to attend Poly! You would be surprised to know that Poly administration have to turn away students because we simply don't have room to take them all!

As for coaching, I have first hand knowledge of the countless hours our ENTIRE coaching staff spends preparing their kids for EVERY GAME! This staff COLLECTIVELY is a team in and of itself! They take pride in producing...hmmmm 47 NFL players...hmmmm isn't that more than any other high school in the NATION?

Willie Brown said it best: "You don't go to Poly just to play, you go to WIN!!!!"

I'm glad to see someone in the moore league is giving Poly some competition. I remeber it use to be Poly-Wilson now it's Poly- Lakewood. Times have changed...I would like to see someone finally beat Poly that is from the Moore League, but Poly has tested itself over the number of years. Poly has an advantage with experience. Lakewood would take a victory if they capitalize on the mistakes Poly makes...To Lakewood, you should treat this game as a championship game...
it's the semifinals play off with two teams from the same league... i'm so use to only seeing Poly representing the Moore League this far now it's different...it's like getting in a fight with your cousin...

It's going to be a very exciting game regardless of who wins. Yeah, Poly beat Bishop Amat and Esperanza, but to say that "The Wood" had easier opponents in Serite and Mission Viejo??? Put the crack pipe down!! It will be nice watching the O-line open up holes for Stone and Erno, Talia and Co. put a hurtin' on the Poly offense.

The Wood 28 - Poly 20

There was an article in the USA Today some years ago that said that Poly had produced the most NFL players of any High School in America, but that Lakewood had produced more pro athletes (if you count ALL sports) than any other high school in the country - including Poly. It might have been since the 1950's though. I also saw something a couple years ago that showed Poly and Lakewood both in the top 5 for producing pro athletes. So, it's not like Lakewood doesn't have a sports tradition. The Moore League in general produces a ton of quality athletes...the Long Beach/Lakewood area in general. A lot of pro athletes have also come out of Mayfair and Artesia, which are both in Lakewood. So, it's our whole area that is thriving. And yeah, Poly has good academics, but lots of high schools do. I know people who good have gone to Poly for the PACE program, but they decided to stay close to home and go to Millikan, Lakewood, or Wilson. So, I think the people in this area should be proud of both teams. Quit hating on the big red. It's all the same district and it's going to be a good game. Nobody in red is fearing Poly this week.

Come on Coach Lara, you live in LAKEWOOD so hook them up with a win. You might be able to get into the lakewood youth hall of fame.

thank you for your cooperation

I believe it's going to be one Hell of a game and the best team standing will win. Poly is an unstoppable football powerhouse but Lakewood is on fire and on a roll. It doesn’t matter about past teams or past games what matters is this Friday night. Teams, schools and communities are fired up and ready to go. No one can predict a winner but Poly is favored. But the again this is play off football and Lakewood like any other team is capable of anything. To me this game will be better than the final who ever that may be. It's a toss up but I do believe Lakewood will prevail in the end. A dynasty does not last forever and I believe it's time for change. Good luck to both teams, as they are two of the best teams around.

robsep

All teams recruit! Big schools and small schools. Private schools and public schools. Great programs and poor programs alike. It's no secret and there is nothing wrong with it because it is allowed.

Flakewood does not have a chance against Poly

we will win because of one man....jerry stone.

beast.

Poly-Lakewood fans Stop fueding!...2 Moore league teams in the Semi-Finals?

Do you have any Idea how disturbing this is for the Mighty Orange County?

Makes Me very happy to know that there are 2 Moore teams and only 1 Trinity league (Orange Lutheran)

So be happy :)

It's 2004 and Lakewood has one of the best linebackers in the country named Luthor Brown. The Press Telegram runs a story of how Lakewood has never had a better chance to beat Poly and win the Moore League title. They run a picture with Desean Jackson and QB Cruz Parsons on one side of the Poly (Moore League) Trophy. On the other side is Brown and whoever the PT deemed the second best player on Lakewood. What happened? Poly won, rather easily and went on to win the CIF-SS D.1 championship. The same will happen here. People will think that Lakewood has a shot, but there is just no way. Poly 34 Lakewood 3! The Poly Defense will show up to play and the offense will run it down Lakewoods throat! Coach Lara is the most under rated coach in California if not the nation! GO POLY, GO JACKRABBITS!

Everybody keeps talking about Poly vs Bishop Amat game and how they barely won. Well Lakewood beat Servite In OT by one point. Quit hating on poly and admit it, if poly wasn't so talented those other lakewood players would be at poly. But because Poly is so stacked those players went over to Lakewood to play. Enough said Go Poly!!!

The person before this that said Lakewood produced more pro players than any other high school is on drugs! - there is nothing to back that claim.

this friday is gonna be the most important game of my highschool career.whose gonna get it?
poly is too cocky anyways they think they are tight at every sport..sorry not at softball! lakewood is going to winn! we got out two starters back ..oo its a new game now!
go lakewood win it!

Coach Lara my live in Lakewood, but did the right thing in coaching for Poly. Don't hate just participate. Be at the game on Friday night, cause Flakewood will need the money to recruit players from Compton like a.k.a Jerry "THE INELIGIBLE" Stone.
C'YA

Long Beach Poly baby!!!!!!!!

GO GREEN AND GOLD!!!!

i always look for a JACKRABBIT BLOW OUT!!! but with these coaches are being out coached, but the team always find a way to WIN THE BIG GAME!!! POLY MAY B LIMPING , BUT THEY HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS TO FILL THE GAPS.it could be a close game, but it could bo A POLY BLOW OUT!!,I STILL SEE A POLY VICTORY ANYWAY IT GOES!!!! GO POLY JACKRABBITS SMASH LAKEWOOD

Bottom line is Poly will win if their excellent D can stuff the run (keep Stone COLD) and harass Scroggins all night, and if they can keep their own offense on the field while Melvin, Daveon, & Co pound the football. Patience, all ye who want high scores and a quick victory! Let them do it the old fashioned way and all will be well...

Oh, and speaking of recruiting: Please, fellow public school parents and students, let us not accuse each other of this when the private schools do WAY more than mere recruiting. It is my pleasure at any time to see a public HS beat a private HS. So I'm gonna cringe, but say it anyway: No matter who wins tomorrow night at Cerritos, I will root for them against Orange Lutheran.

All stats aside Poly is the far superior team and Lakewood will ALWAYS play second fiddle to the J-Rabbits. Lakewood is full of a bunch of haters and always has been, maybe you guys should roll to a league you can dominate, cause this one is taken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All y'all rabbit fans are goin to squirrels after friday game...bckuz. the lancers are the underdogs and I predict they will will 24 - 21...we are to strong right now...offense and defense ...and don't think its all bckuz of stone....bckuz there are 2 sleeper runnin backs ...23 and 24...YES THE TWINS....TAWAUN AND DAWAUN...y'all ain't ready

1982 was the last time Lakewood defeated Poly in football. Raul Lara was on the team and Jerry Jaso was one of the coaches. It should be noted that Poly had an excellent season going 9-2-2 with the only other loss being to Servite in the championship game beating Mater Dei (32-0!),Huntington Beach and Edison in the playoffs. I don't know what Lakewood's season record was that year - maybe someone can look it up - but it appears that it not help them to progress in the playoffs winning over Poly.None of this historical anecdote has any bearing on Friday's game. It will be a close game like Poly's last two games but Poly will win by a field goal. Our prediction : 24-21. Jerry Stone? 76 yards rushing - Poly always puts the hammer on running backs that are predicted pre-game to deliver a victory or make a decisive impact. The 21 points are going to be scored primarily in the air. It will be nail biter but once again................

POLY WINS !!!!!

Poly will win. Lakewood can beat us in baseball not football or probably any other sport. The reality is Poly is a dynasty, which is why it's home of the scholars and champions. Poly has earned it, over 100 years of success. Poly has a waiting list for students that want to attend Poly. That is not recruiting. Anyone with common sense knows that if you want to go far in sports and academically Poly is the school. Just like there are Lakers haters, there are Poly haters.

It's be close, but Jackrabbits will win.

-Class of 2001

okay people, first of all we should be proud of having moore league in the finals both teams are dominate this season...but lakewood will prevail.
first coaches and team players know that this is the worst poly team in ten years barely beating bishop amant the worst record coming into the cif also esparanza come on small players on this team they just got lucky by scoring in the last minute. people get real this poly team is not as strong than years before. lakewood is all around great team and have a lot of heart, they went through so much this season and its time for a change!!
GO BIG RED

Lakewood 24 Poly 21. I played at Lakewood in 1974 last of the skinheads. Undefeated in Moore League play. Last Big Red team to do so, Lakewood's time has come again. GO BIG RED.
John Ford would be proud, Cr.p Son!

I love the underdog story and poly is the underdog as always. They are the number one seed in the pac 5 division playoffs and they barely won their games.Bishop amat and esperanza are coming from winning records and are tough teams to beat. Lakewood on the other hand had to beat servite and mission viejo. poly has to play lakewood and that is a tougher mission. poly is known for winning big games but lakewood is on a roll a rolling stone. i predict a team from the moore league would win this game. moore league 2 and OC 1.

Lakewood needs just to double up on the defensive ends, hold the line ! block and block
Poly`s D line. Give Jesse time.
On defense Lakewood needs to let it all out!
Put that Rabbit on his tail over and over again
Then that Poly QB will want to run and hand off quick to his backs PUT THE HURT ON THE BUNNY!

Lakewood 28 Poly 17

Poly wins... convincingly.

lakewood has no chance....we will run the ball down the field for 4 quarters

TREVOR ERNO AND THALIA CHRICTON WE'RE COMING AFTER YALL FULL THROTTLE!!!

ALL GAS NO BRAKES!!!

POLY will win! But, it will be a close game. Lakewood has greatly improved and its desire to break "The Streak" will add more pressure for them to win. Lakewoods' and POLYS' dislike of one another, goes back along ways and POLY always comes out with a win. If POLY sticks to its' running game and stiff defense and "hits" Stone the first half, Lakewood's running game will be almost nil. Give POLY the win and a match up with OC's O. Lu.

GO GO GO GO
GO POLY

GO HERE TO VOTE FOR THE POLY/LAKEWOOD GAME TO BE ON FOX. THE GAME WITH THE MOST VOTES WINS!!!

http://media.myfoxla.com/foxhilites/

Heck, we live in Lakewood and you see what school my kids go to!!!! Poly run all over ths Lancers.

i have to say, i think lakewood is gonna take it this year.

Lakewood is firing hard on all eight cylinders now, has their running back Jerry Stone fuel injected, QB Scroggins turbo charged rocket cannon, Linebacker Trevor Erno lasered in for attack kills on anything green, Italia Chrichton
" AKA The Heat Seeking Missile " , Robert Brothers " AKA The Eraser " , because he erases the defense's line , Tofi Tiedemann and Stephen Armstrong 'AKA The Glue Brothers " because everthing they catch sticks " Points, Points , Points ! The Tide has turned, The mountains have moved, the oceans have swelled, Lakewood 31 Poly 21

Lakewood has shadowed Poly for quite some time. They have a new image now that consists ofcharacter, quality, and integrity. After the game we will all see the maturity of a new Lancer Program that we will be proud of.Poly we appreciate what you've done thus far, but the mantle has changed hands. GO BIG RED!

IT'S GAME TIME, AND LAKEWOOD IS READY FOR POLY. THE ONE THING TO KEEP IN MIND IS THE PRESSURE IS ON POLY, NOT LAKEWOOD!

POLY HAS A LOT MORE TO LOSE THAN JUST A GAME, AND I'M SURE THEY ARE THINKING ABOUT THAT IN THE BACK OF THEIR HEADS.

LAKEWOOD, IT'S TIIIIIIIIME TO ROOOCK!!!

GO POLY!!! and ROCK hard... You guys are the best.

It will be a great game. Lakewood has their best shot at the win this time. Playing well and well coached. Turnovers will be the key, you can never give Poly a short field. This is were Poly lives POST SEASON. Experence is important and Poly has that. Poly by 7,,,,,, But on any given Friday night........

Lakewood loves to talk, but talking doesn't win football games. No conversation or debate, Poly smashes, like always. GO POLY!

O I think Lakewood has a great shot this time around! Its going to be a close one tho. But I really am crossing my fingers , knocking on WOOD for Lakewood!

poly is good, but corona is the best

Go POLY all the way!! Lakewood, do ya'll really think ya'll are gonna have a chance... if so think again!! Go GREEN GOLD MACHINE!!

LAKEWOOD will win this ..THE STEAK ENDS IN A FEW HOURS!!!!!

24-21

Lakewood will always be the red-headed stepchild to Poly.

Lets GO LANCERS!!!!!!!!
The streak is going to be OVER!!!

I believe the score will be Poly 20-10!! Lakewood doesnt have the longevity to run with Poly. Maybe in another 25 yrs they'll get this far in the Playoffs.

Congratulations Kenny, Morgan, and Lazari....Period 2 is so proud of you!!!

- Mr. B

Final Score:

Long Beach Poly 20
Lakewood 10

It took them three quarters and a few minutes in the fourth, but the visitors made do on their "Divine Right" to be at the Big A next week.

haha poly won............thats wut fakewood gets for talkin all that trash.lmao

it's official long beach poly heads back to the pac-5 championship for the second year in a row...now who are they going to play...i'm hoping orange lutheran because poly and orange lutheran the past two years has always been a great game...

sorry to say but once again lakewood thought they can take us(Poly) but can never deliver..we just won't allow it...

from Big D poly football alumn....c/o 2008

Coach? Mac Has a lot of talent on the team that makes him look good but he couldn't coach himself out of a paper bag. He is a old QB so all he wants is QB stats He should have been running the ball off tackle and play action. That would have won the game!
Mac out Coached AGAIN!

He should stick to teaching ENGLISH!

Poly 20 Lakewood 10!!!!!!!
Poly cracked the STONE! Shut down the lancers in the second half, zero, nada, zilch! Stone ran hard in the first half but he really look tired in the second half. The Poly faithful were pretty worried when Skara the placekicker/punter went down on a roughing penalty and never returned.

LAKEWOOD! YOU LOSE!

GO POLY!

lol. Coach Mac is doing all the right things at Lakewood. With most any other coach, that game would have been a Poly blowout. It was his coaching that made it a game. Not taking anything away from the talent Lakewood has, but he coaches a very smart game in my opinion. Turnovers cost them.

indeed, poly's year of living dangerously!

WOOOHOOO!!! LONG BEACH POLY!!! hey lakewood fans... where are u guys? scared to make anymore comments...?? thats what we thought!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats Poly keep up the good work!

well now what you gonna say, all yall who been hatin on POLY can shut up and eat all the stuff you just said cuz in the end who took it? POLY did and you cant say anything now, all that big talk was for nothing, all that dissing was for nothing and all yo lil comments have been for nothing cuz POLY took it!!! the score was 20 -10 besides you know DIMES but anyways... so now all you can do is take it and shut up...

Once again to wish "we want Poly !" reminds us that you have to be careful what you wish for. Sorry Trevor. Even a cheap shot on our kicker did not stop Poly from kicking Lakewood out of the playoffs at 5-6. BIG RED came up a LITTLE SHORT , as most people expected. We predicted Poly to win by a field goal which was the case late in the game with the score at 13-10. The score was embellished by a late interception and subsequent TD run by Richardson.
We are still puzzled how Stone became academically requalified so quickly. He was supposed to get B's in summer school but he thought he just needed to pass so he probably received C's or worse. See story in yesterday's LA Times. We have to assume the "change" was legitimate or else it could be an 0-11 season !

POLY BABY. IT WAS OVER BEFORE IT STARTED.

Hey DFunk....Your name is short for DysFunktional! I guess it wasn't Lakewood's year. I know where you'll be watching next week's game. Or do you DARE to watch! LMAO

You Lakewood (Fakewood) people Talk TOO MUCH!!! That's why you lose every time! Guys, shut up for once okay. Being cockey isn't gonna make you win. You haven't learned in 20yrs., now thats pathetic and extremely hard-headed. Be glad that you made it this far and don't focus so hard on Poly, well ok you wanna beat Poly, but say this is the year, remember the Fat Lady!

wtf ? poly is fkn horrrible this year ! they have no chance against lakewoood. its gonnna be the same blowout story as all the other lakewood games.

poly goin to win because lake wood is weak..

more legue gone see tonight.

watch out 4 the running backs.. scouts goin to be at this game too see wuts gone happen

Even though im from jordan i still think that lakewood is going to beat poly. after what lakewood did to the tarebabes a 61-0 game theres no dought the lancers are going to take the w tonight
