Girls Volleyball "set" to begin

The girls volleyball season officially opens Thursday, and there are a number of very good teams from the area as you can see from the CIF-SS preseason rankings below.

The best league race should come from the Moore League, where Wilson, Poly and Lakewood - all in the top 6 in Division IAA. Downey and Warren should fight it out in the SGVL and La Mirada and Cerritos are favored in the Suburban League.

Our full volleyball preview will run within the next week or so, but until then enjoy the CIF poll info.

Mayfair volleyball should do pretty good as well this year for the Suburban League.
