Press Telegram Football Top 10

1. Lakewood (5-1)
Friday at Cabrillo
Win vs. Poly was big, especially mentally. Now to see if it can carry over to postseason

 2. Los Alamitos (5-0)
Friday at Newport Harbor
Griffins flying high, but the ante goes way up with the start of Sunset League

3. Poly (2-4)
Oct. 23 at Millikan
No doubt 'Rabbits are improving, especially the offense with Leachman at QB

4. Norwalk (5-0)
Friday vs. Glenn
Two big games coming up, vs. La Mirada and Mayfair

5. Warren (4-1)
Friday at Dominguez
Callier & Co. look good enough to run through SGVL

6. St. John Bosco (3-2)
Friday vs. Servite
Hopefully the Braves found some magic in their bye week with Trinity League starting

7. La Mirada (5-1)
Oct. 23 vs. Mayfair
The Matadores are looking good, but next game, vs. Mayfair, will be a test

8. Compton (3-2)
Friday vs. Wilson
Tarbabes haven't been fully healthy all year, but they appear strong enough for third in Moore League

9. Millikan (4-2)
Friday vs. Jordan
The Rams' loss was closer than the 33-7 score indicated, but a setback nonetheless

10. Gahr (3-2)
Friday vs. Downey
Need to find consistency on offense and defense if Glads are to push Warren

why is poly ranked so high when other teams have better records

Poly should be #1. They almost beat Lakewood and they have a young team, and tougher schedule, and because only 10 Lakewood players shook their hands after the game. WAAAAAAH.And we won C.I.F before.

Which of these teams ranked below Poly (with better records) do you think could actually beat Poly??

4. Norwalk (5-0)
5. Warren (4-1)
6. St. John Bosco (3-2)
7. La Mirada (5-1)
8. Compton (3-2)
9. Millikan (4-2)
10. Gahr (3-2)

None!! And you'll see that when Poly dominates Compton and Millikan in a few weeks.

The game between Wilson and Milli-cant was not going to be closer.... it should have been more of a route. The bruins sputtered inside the redzone all night. The game was not close and look for Wilson to beat compton this week. Wilson's schedule shows they lost to two of the top teams in the pac 5. They get no respect. Maybe after they beat the so called 8th ranked team they will get some respect!!! These rankings are a JOKE!

Poly is ranked exactly where they should be ranked. No other team on that list beats Poly except Lakewood. Los Alamitos is overrated and no one else compares. Poly will win atleast one game in the playoffs.

Expert... You are the Expert for a reason!!!

the expert we go by who we think we can beat?? ... stick to the facts Dan O.. 6-0 norwalk and also I think this year norwalk can beat poly ... but does that take them hi in the ranks no because you will make up a line for any victory over poly....I think this paper should be called long beach poly press..... this paper looks out for only long beach schools .. and i wish norwalk would take all of your paper racks out of our city.... It's not our fault who you play so dont give me that we had harder teams to play crap..... hey p-t - I bet when we lose you will have a big spread in newspaper

Take a chill pill Noewalk fan...If Norwalk is actually better than Poly, then they will win CIF title. Until then, they ain't better. For that matter, when was the last time Norwalk even won league or beat Mayfair???

this year 2009 norwalk suburban league champs.
and by the way it is - N O R W A L K - InTImdator.. Hey don't be mad you knew it was bound to happen... We just a bunch of local boys
