Downey High linebacker Jabari Ruffin has been chosen to participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour will be visiting Downey High on Friday to bring the news and honor Ruffin, who has already committed to USC, in front of his teammates, classmates, fans and family during a jersey presentation in the school's theater at 3:45 p.m.

Ruffin joins Dominguez DB Brandon Beaver so far as the only local players selected to the game.

The 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl will be televised live on NBC, from the Alamodome on Jan. 7.
