St. Anthony High girls basketball coach James Anderson said Friday senior guard Sequoia Hernandez will have an MRI Monday to determine the extent of a left knee injury she suffered Thursday night.
Hernandez landed awkwardly early in Thursday's game while attempting to block a shot and dislocated her knee, according to Anderson. She was later taken to St. Mary's Hospital for evaluation. An MRI originally scheduled for Friday was postponed until the swelling goes down.
"We're waiting to see what the damage is," said Anderson. "We're hoping she's only out for a while."
Hernandez recently returned from a right knee injury. She's a transfer from Millikan High and was ineligible to play last season. Thursday's game was just her second of the season.
