Senior guard Raquel Johnson showed plenty of speed and explosiveness in last night's 61-41 girls basketball victory for St. Anthony over visiting Trabuco Hills at the St. Anthony Tournament. Twelve of those points came in the first quarter, mostly on drives to the basket after beating her defender on a cut or off the dribble.
Junior post Kendall Cooper had a relatively quiet night, scoring 10 points to go with seven rebounds and four blocks. Cooper, at 6-foot-3, is rated the No. 7 junior in the nation by ESPN and is among the top recruited players in her class.
Gaby Moura-Hayes added 15 points and junior guard Sequoia Hernandez had eight points and a steal.
The Saints play Beckman at 6 p.m. in another pool-play game tonight. Mayfair plays Workman in the same tournament at 4:30 p.m.
