All hail Altadena

It boomed and lightninged Sunday night in Pas, but no hail like in the foothills communities from La Crescenta to Glendora. Nancy Steele from the Altadena Foothills Conservancy sends along this photo of the cowskull she calls Desert Pete from her yard near the Angeles National Forest:

I had just gone to sleep when the heavy rain and booming thunder woke me up.

I couldn't get back to sleep so I finished "The Hummingbird's Daughter" and went through all the study questions.

I'm afraid I don't have a cool photo to show for it!
