Owen Brown gravesite, before and after fire

Trails advocate Paul Ayers forwards this historical photo of the Little Round Top gravesite of Owen Brown, son of the liberator John Brown, at his burial service in the hills above the Meadows neighborhood of Altadena:

Great coverage of the fire Larry!

Great coverage of the fire, Larry.

Mr. Larry Wilson,

You recently suggested that the LA County District Attorney's Office has not been "serious" about pursuing arsonists.

What evidence or examples do you have to support their alleged "soft" approach to pursuing arsonists ?

ZERO.

In fact, I think it was just another example of you wanting to thump your chest and appear to be the little man with all the solutions.

However, in doing so, you attempted to impugne the credibility of the LA County District Attorney's Office...and you revealed yourself to be nothing more than a blowhard.

Thanks for showing that very interesting historical photo. In the early photos of the Altadena foothills I've always been struck by the lack of trees, compared to the luxuriant growth before the Station Fire. Were the trees cut down by the early settlers, or had there been a fire?

I believe it is fair to say that Larry has Napoleon's complex.

He can dish it out in his column and blog, but God forbid anyone should challenge his holier-than-thou opinions or even his often-maligned "facts."

Larry just can't handle people challenging him. Case in point his public meltdown several weeks ago, when he referred to everyone whom challenged Obama's proposed government take over of health care as "wingnuts."

Then, Larry ignored any further debate of the issue and simply declared himself the victor.

Naturally, if Larry were confident in his ability to debate people on issues, he would do it.
But he's much like his idol, Obama, always exclaiming, "the debate is over ! it's time for everyone to accept my point of view...otherwise you're just a jerk !"

It's interesting to see the round hill without all the additional power towers hovering over it.

The question I have is did anyone locate the missing headstone now that the chaparal cover is gone? I figured with the disputes centered around access to the site someone had kicked it over into the deep chaparral

Pasadena Adjacent,

I heard that Sarah Palin was up there recently, and she kicked the headstone down among the chaparral. I haven't had the time to look, but I've been told you can view videotape of it on YouTube.

Her political action committee has been very active in obstructing access to the trail.
