Dear Mr. Frank Girardot,

I am writing you to express my disappointment regarding the recent articles in the Pasadena Star News dated July 31, 2010 and August 18, 2010. As a reputable newspaper, I would think it is important for your readers to trust what you put forth is accurate as well as creditable reporting? I feel that I was not represented properly by your newspaper and never received a return call from Mr. Wilson after leaving several messages.

As to your article on July 31st, you did not provide a profile for me as you did with the other three prospective candidates. The reporter, Larry Wilson did not make reference to the ethnicity of the four candidates indicated especially in light of the fact that each of the candidates are of different ethnicities. Moreover, the article gave the appearance that I was just a person with a name and no other qualifications and/or experience.

In the August 18th article, Mr. Wilson mentioned the candidates’ backgrounds or experience except for, Mr. Nelson’s and myself. Mr. Wilson stated in his article the following, “which would make two African-American candidates (along with Allen Shay) in the heavily white Hastings Ranch area”. Furthermore Mr. Wilson did not confirm if Mr. Nelson was a perspective candidate for District 4. In fact, Mr. Wilson is not a perspective candidate nor has he indicated that he was.

As a committed Pasadena resident and a 20-year homeowner in upper Hastings Ranch that loves this city as well as a 29-year business owner in Business Consulting, Real Estate Developer, Finance and a Strategic Planner for retention of Investments. I am a USC graduate with a BA in Political Science, a JD degree in Law along with being a licensed real estate broker. I currently sit as a committee member for the Government Affairs Committee for the Pasadena Foothill Association of Realtors, I participate in the mentor programs with Blair, Muir and Pasadena High School, along with coaching a Pop Warner football team at Victory Park and I am involved in many other organizations within the city of Pasadena. I would appreciate your immediate response on this matter.
