On the agenda: special meeting, City Council

| | Comments (0) |
The 4 p.m. special meeting at the Tri-Communities Room today will focus on Central Park and what the economic downturn means to the Family Aquatics Center plans. Although the City Council considers the future phase of the park to be a top priority, there just isn't enough money to operate the aquatics center.

"We have to be realistic," said Councilwoman Diane Williams. "We could probably build a center, but do we have money to operate it? My thinking is, we need to rethink our time line."

At the 7 p.m. City Council meeting, Library Director Deborah Clark, who recently announced her retirement, will be recognized. The council will also review the appointments to various subcommittees and make changes. This is the last City Council meeting of the year.
