Albertsons bites the dust

| | Comments (5) |
The Albertsons on Base Line and Archibald is slated to close April 9. The other two locations -- Kenyon and Highland, and Foothill and Vineyard -- will remain.

"While the decision to close a store is always difficult -- given the impact on associates and customers -- it is guided by what is best for the company's ongoing success and future growth," according to an Albertsons press release.

No word yet on whether the store will have a going-out-of-business sale. I don't know if anybody went to the liquidation sale when the San Antonio Heights store closed in 2007. Those are always fun. Seventy-five percent off toothpaste! I'll take the whole shelf, please.

That is odd... that one is always packed. I live close to that store but dread going over there because the parking lot and entrance are always packed.

Oh well I guess I'll continue to frequent good ole Stater Bros and hope that they stay in business.

Great!! We will probably end up with another NON UNION Grocer paying a garbage wage and no Benefits. Get ready to pay more into Food Stamps and WIC. I hope U know how to bag your own.

hey mike,

yes we all do know how to put groceries in a bag and we didn't have to get a college degree to do it either. that's why they should be crappy low paying non-skilled jobs. not inflated union jobs!!

Why would anyone want more crappy low paying jobs?
