Gutierrez mum but blog telling

RG.JPGThe once talkative Councilman Rex Gutierrez has been silent since the Hueston report came out Tuesday. He wouldn't even pick up when his colleague Councilman Sam Spagnolo called.

But "Rex's Blog" offers some insight into the councilman as he prepared for public scrutiny.

In his last entry posted yesterday, Gutierrez described a charming Mother's Day weekend spent at an Italian restaurant and the Pacific Electric Trail.

"It really was one of the most restful, peaceful weekends of my life," Gutierrez wrote. "I love my family, my city, and my life. I am at peace. Calm before the storm? Bring it on."

Gutierrez's entry on April 19 warned readers not to believe what they read in the papers. He wrote:

During my tenure, I did all I could to be a diligent worker and abide by all regulations that were known to me. I worked all the hours I was paid for, and I never engaged in anything that would contradict my high standards of ethics and hard work. I feel it is so important to never judge anyone by what is written in the papers. All people deserve utmost consideration and goodwill, as well as due process of law.

But Rex.... what was written in the papers were actual quotes that came out of your actual mouth... And none of them matched anything close to reality. That, Rex is called a lie. It's not that judge you by what the paper wrote about you, I judge you by the diarrhea that driveled out of your mouth during the investigation. Rex, you lied. You are repulsive. I hope you go to jail- you took my money and gave it to Romney. Not cool.

contradict my high standards of ethics and hard work;

For example, he often called city
officials and fellow councilmen to discuss city business and could often be heard on his cell
phone saying, "Hi, this is Rex Gutierrez, City Councilman for Rancho Cucamonga."

Mr. White recalled Mr. Gutierrez
filling out campaign disclosure forms from his desk in the Assessor's Office.

In fact, Ms. Anolin said she warned Mr. Gutierrez that he could get himself, Mr.
Postrnus and the Assessor's Office in trouble for what he was doing.

Mr. Gutierrez's work habits were so irregular that he was labeled with the nickname
"Intergalactic Officer."

When Mr. Gutierrez was hired in March 2007, his annual salary was $59,883.20. He
immediately received a 10.3% raise and received two other raises exceeding 5% over the
next six months. By September 2007 his annual salary was $71,448. Mr. Mosher said three
raises of 5% or more within a six month period seemed extraordinary. He could not recall
anyone receiving such raises. It is unclear why Mr. Gutierrez received such preferential
treatment.

What kind of person says “Bring it on” facing these circumstances?

Some self absorbed dimwit.

Probably, the worst thing someone could say in this situation.

To create an image of Rancho Cucamonga as a region of innovation and opportunity - enjoying a safe community, and a high quality of life... dump Rex. "Bring it on," said the idiot.

Don't pass judgement just yet........ said:

I am not picking sides on this but have you ever heard the saying their are 2 sides of the story. Put yourself in these shoes. If your boss was doing something illegal on the side and got caught for it, does that automatically imply YOU as his employee were doing illegal activities yourself???
Would you like to be automatically accused by people and having them pass judgement without YOU being able to give your side of the story?? Let's hear both sides of the story before jumping to conclusion. The media is always quick to report and the people watching & hearing are always quick to accept it as fact.

Rex is the same guy who used his "community newspaper" weeks before the last mayor election to make it appear the former mayor candidate was leaving town after the election. Article after article to question the personal credibility of a candidate for which he was not even running against. Rex even lowered himself to verbally attack the children of the candidate for his personal gain. Now he states don't trust what you read in the newspaper?. Sad Rex went this direction over the years. It all catches up with you. I've seen him in Church. The big man is speaking, Rex.

Interesting as his boss Bill goes down, Rex's enters in his personal blog a different tone, speaking of his committment to religion, family, and community. If in trouble, plead you were lost and now have been saved.
And worst of all, Rex is so confused. We have just been there with Manny of the Dodgers, and Governor of Illnois. What me? "I did not know", If someone had only told me. Just wait till the facts come out. I'm a good guy it's everyone else that is messed up. "Bring it on". What a classic!...... Rancho Cucamonga used to have a dedicated council until aoubt 8 years agod, since then it's no different than most large cities. Politicians with self interest, and greed. You will never get a staight answer from them. Rex, Diane, Kurth.....wow,what a poor bunch representing such a progressive community. I'm so confused.
