Gutierrez extends a hand
(not sure if his colleagues will shake it.)
You might have bumped into a City Council official or two during your lunch break recently. Has everybody forgiven Rex? No hard feelings perhaps?
After some prompting from the mayor, Councilman Rex Gutierrez decided to schedule some one-on-one time with each of his colleagues to smooth out the wrinkles ... let bygones be bygones.
Gutierrez had breakfast with Councilman Dennis Michael and just recently dined with Councilman Sam Spagnolo, perhaps Gutierrez's harshest critic.
"We're generally getting along," Gutierrez said.
The City Council doesn't know what to make of the county's litigation against Gutierrez and the criminal charges against him. Councilwoman Diane Williams has said it would have been nice if Gutierrez gave his colleagues a heads up before all this scandal snowballed. Something like, "Hey guys, you're going to read all these scandalous allegations about me, I just wanted you to know. Sorry if it's distracting." Williams and others never got that disclaimer.
Gutierrez said his legal troubles can drag on for another year or two, a lengthy time for the City Council to remain tense.
"We can't just be mad at each other for that long can we?" Gutierrez asked.

Isn't that special
Wow, little Rex want's to bribe his fellow bribe taking crook's on the council to get along with him. This poor "Crestfallen public servant" who love's Jimmy Stewart's movie about doing the right thing should try it. Give back the moneie's you stole from taxpayer's on your PHONEY county job to start. Ive heard from your "supporter's" that your wife is a lovely person, I hope she leaves your useless ass and finds someone with moral's and an ethical mind, you lack both.
It doesn't matter, he's headed for jail anyway.
Surely you have'nt forgot your bold statement of "there will be no plea deal" have you Rex? I'm confident a crook like you would'nt go back on his word, right? Make us all proud Rex and stick to your gun's, don't be scared of jail, you'll feel right at home in no time, and think how proud you'll feel for sticking to your word for once,a strange feeling at first for you.
ALERT: Rancho City Treasurer
Keep a very sharp eye on the Rancho's money. It would'nt surprise me if Gutierrez feel's Rancho should pay his legal fee's, since he's seen fit to it take County money for doing nothing, he may feel he's entitled to Rancho's just because he's Rex, the victim.
