Free slurpee anyone?
There's a new 7-Eleven on Fourth Street near Milliken (in the Fatburger, Green Mango plaza). It's open now but on Dec. 19, there will be raffle prizes, free samples and Laker girls to mark the official grand opening. Festivities are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting at noon.

Why is your newspaper column always just a rehash of the old weekly news. There is a lot that happens in Rancho Cucamonga but you never seem to have anything new or indepth about happenings in Rancho Cucamonga. David Allen writes a great column and has some very interesting news. I enjoy his column even though we don't live in Pomona.
I wish I had a newspaper column, Terri. Unfortunately, columns are only saved for veteran reporters like David. What appears on Sundays and in the City News is a collection of blog entries found here. They'll sound old to you if you read them online first. Of course, if there's anything happening in RC that you'd like to read more about, you can always make suggestions here or e-mail me at wendy.leung@inlandnewspapers.com. Thanks for reading, Terri. Sorry I'm not David Allen.
There's only room for one of us anyway.
As I hope you realize, Wendy writes plenty of actual news and feature stories about Rancho Cucamonga; her blog (and the excerpts in the newspaper) is just for short stuff, same as my blog.
I'm glad you like my work, but you've worried me a little in saying you like my column even though you don't live in Pomona! I guess I need to get to Rancho Cucamonga more often.
I'll ditto DA's comment. RC is a pretty large city to covered primarily by one reporter.
A column might be a nice thing to have, but I rely on Wendy's news stories and insights on what's happening in RC on a daily basis. I suggest nicely to Terri that the next time you read a story on something happening in RC, look at the reporters name covering that story...9 times out of 10 it will be Wendy and it won't be just fluff.
RichP: You're right, RC is a pretty large city to be covered primarily by one reporter. But so are Ontario and Pomona, which are also covered by one reporter each. I concentrate on both those cities and try to find time for RC, Chino, Chino Hills, La Verne, Montclair and Upland. For a while I tried concentrating on Ontario, Pomona and RC and my head almost exploded. (That meant council meetings three straight nights...groan.)
If you are willing to buy real estate, you would have to get the home loans. Moreover, my mother usually uses a term loan, which is the most reliable.
