Tea, anyone?
Tomorrow is tax day and you know what that means. Tea party organizers will stage protests around the country. There will be several in the Inland Empire including in Redlands, Chino Hills and San Bernardino. In Rancho Cucamonga, the protest is 4 to 7 p.m. on the corner of Day Creek and Foothill.

It'd be a lot easier to take these people seriously if their concern for individual rights extended to allowing same-sex marriage, euthanasia, an end to drug prohibition, etc.
And their heartfelt concern for the US Constitution would probably be easier to swallow if they had staged similar protests against Bush-era warrantless wiretapping, unlawful detainment at Guantanamo, etc.
As it is, though, if you actually want consistent, non-hypocritical support for individual liberties you'll have to look to those libertarians that existed _before_ our current President took office. These tea-pary types are inconsistent pretenders that give those who truly support liberty a bad name.
Hmmm ... a gathering on a public (tax-funded) sidewalk ... at the intersection of two public (tax-funded) streets ... positioned for maximum visibility due to proximity to a public (tax-funded) stoplight ... taking advantage of the safety provided by public (tax-funded) safety ordinances that are enforced by public (tax-funded) law enforcement personnel?
Am I the only one who thinks that this whole thing smells a lot like socialism?
Aren't the Tea Party fools the same ones that want the government's hands off their Medicare?
