it's time for a memorial for All veterans but it seams that Rancho Cucamonga has forgoten the two Memorials In RC. #one FIRE STATION on AMETHYST and #Two The Alta LOMA HIGH SCHOOL Memorial for the Students that have gave their lives for us.

I don't know that Rancho has forgotten those two memorials.
Some veterans and residents have been pushing the city to build a memorial in a larger, more centralized location for years. The City Council's response used to be that there already is one at the Amethyst station and high school. There's also a very nice one at the Northtown Community Center. I heard there's another one in Etiwanda, too, but I don't know where that one is.

What happened to the Freedom Flame 9-11 Statue? Why did we give this statue up to Ontario? Does Rancho worry about being known as that place that denied the 9-11 statue to be built in their park? The city that denied the 9-11 statue.

Because "I will never forget" how the city paraded the pieces of the World Trade Center through the streets of our city. They planned to built a 9-11 memorial at Central Park but denied it's construction due to a few complaints by neighbors. As a Democrat, my party was called unpatriotic for eight years by the opposition. I have never called anyone unpatriotic until today.

The neighbors near Central Park who had the statue ejected from our city are very unpatriotic. Not in my backyard...really...even for the Freedom Flame 9-11 Memorial? One day out of the year crowds would have gathered there. 364 days of normal park usage and 1 day of large crowds. Waaaaa!!!

Leave it to the NIMBYS (Not In My Backyard) to ruin something great for everyone. But isn't that always the Republican way...I'm taking my ball and going home. And I'm sure there were Democrats too who were part of the statues demise. Shame, shame, shame. The 9-11 Flame.

Unfortunately, like a lot of 9-11 projects, special interests take up the banner of 9-11 to advance their special causes.
That was and is the case with Freedom Flame Statue.
It had nothing to do with the neighbors, and everything to do with politics.
As a footnote, at least it wasn’t partisan (this time); equal blame to go around!

Dennis Stout, former mayor of our fair village and disgraced District Attorney (although compared to our current DA, at least Mr. Stout kept his pants on), spearheaded the FF Statue as a springboard to get back into politics.
ALL of the current City Council members still fear Mr. Stout's influence, and had to vote against the placement of the statue to protect their own skins.

So yes, there is shame with the flame, but be careful on to whom you place the blame; the story is the always same, when it comes to political fortune and fame.

Thanks for the good writeup. It in truth was once a leisure account it. Look complicated to more introduced agreeable from you! By the way, how could we keep in touch?
