Businessman Mike Morrell, pictured, won the Republican nomination for the 63rd Assembly District, surpassing Mayor Don Kurth and Navy veteran Paul Chabot. Here's the breakdown:
Congrats Mr. Morrell,
it is good to have a strong hearted wise leader in the assembly. I am 27 years old I am in an MBA program right now.I am passionate about politics. This was a big win!
God bless!

Congrats to Rex on running a stealth campaign getting your crony, Morrell, elected. Should come in handy if you need a pardon for criminal behavior down the road!
Is is astonishing that Kurth spent sooo much money, and did so poorly. Although having half of his Council colleagues support other candidates certainly didn't help. Perhaps those they know something about the guy that we don't?

The Medical assosiation paid for it. At least that is what was printed on all the mail in our mailbox.

Not sure who the "Medical assosiation [sic]" is?? Did you mean Medical Association? Also, what does "Is is" mean?
And yes, the CMA did contribute to Kurth's campaign. Probably something about Kurth being a member?
Look at the financial disclosure forms and see who loaned the campaign committee the most money; by gosh, it was Donald Kurth!
As far the AMA and CMA paying for specific mailers, remember they only paid for a few specific ones out of the total, and there were several other mailers and costs spent for his dismal showing.
And really, it is a moot point - wherever the money came from: it was sooo much for such poor results. That is astonishing!

Ummm...
History can be so annoying, right?!?!
When Mike Morrell ran before, and came in 3rd place, who donated to and endorsed Mr. Morrell? Why it was one Rex Gutierrez.
Flash forward, Rex Gutierrez and Don Kurth announced their intentions to run for office; Mr. Morrell did not.
Then it seems that Jack Lam and Don Kurth, tired of Rex yet again, "helped" the DA with some evidence.
Rex gets charged, drops out of contention, then and only then, does Mr. Morrell announce he is running again. Of course, if Rex publicly supports him, it is the kiss of death.
But the going gets tough, and Rex does does endorse Mr. Morrell through the back channels of the media.
So Rex had EVERYTHING to do with getting his crony elected. But because of Rex's legal trouble and having to keep a low profile; to the misinformed, it looks like he had nothing to do with the campaign.
Annoying doesn't begin to describe this!
