Did we get it right? Or are we totally nuts?

L A Times today disclosed that Rancho Cucamonga Redevelopment Agency paid a developer $44M in 2007 to subsidize low-income rentals. R C consultant stated that fair market value was $13M. Revelopment Agency actions are approved by R C City Council.

How did individual City Council members vote on developer (possibly same R C Developer that was paid $120M by S B County) overpayment? Please provide vote by each council member, which will help me decide if I will vote for an incumbent.

I don't need proof, I will not vote for any incumbent! The reasons why are so obvious, special interests - fire union, developers, self serving activists, need I say more..... Oh and also serving too long ie, complacency.
Vote out all incumbents, make a difference in this city, get NEW fresh ideas and new faces, not has beens.

R C City Clerk informed me that Guitierrez, Williams, Michael & Spagnoli all voted in favor of overpaying developer. Kurth did not vote on measure. I now know the three who will not get my vote in this election and council member who will not get my vote in next election. Gourmet Chef is right - vote out all incumbents in City Council.

Agree with Gourmet Chef. Vote Marc Steinorth for Mayor! Get rid of corrupt, self-serving councilmembers. Burum got rich off this city; how do you like that, residents? Ring a Bell?

I see that the city clerk answered your question, Al. The vote was 4-0 with Mayor Don Kurth absent on the allocation of $42.5 m to have 500 units remain affordable in perpetuity. Those units belong to National CORE, the organization that Jeff Burum founded.

Yes, Daily Bulletin you called it right and are NOT NUTS! It appears to me that Rancho Cucamonga looks fresh, new, and safe despite this economy and what is happening around us in other cities. Regarding MAYOR, simply voting in a NEW FACE (an unknown) sounds very scarey to me! Disgruntled Resident, do you KNOW MARC STEINORTH? Not many do, at least, know what his motivation is for skipping City Council or other politcal post to get his feet wet? Heading directly to the Mayor's office sounds a bit arrogant to me! I mean, come on, what experience does he have running a beautiful, successful city such as ours? What is his message? It's a fact he owns a very small business in Upland, not Rancho! New and fresh are nice, comfortable words, but if you don't know the person behind the face, you'd better think twice and make a more intelligent choice! Fortunately, I DO KNOW MARC STEINORTH, and there is no way I will vote him in as our Mayor.

I feel very confident voting for experience, wisdom and proven success as a loyal, devoted citizen of Rancho...DENNIS MICHAEL!

I agree wholeheartedly with "Concerned in Rancho." Voting out all incumbents is like ripping out your entire lawn because there's a few weeds. People are scared and thus over-reacting. Experience counts the most in these situations, not radicalism. We had the same feeling with Gray Davis, then threw him out and elected an ACTOR. Most political scientists agree that was a mistake. Now look at California. Don't do the same to RC.
