That guy on the corner is Rex
Councilman Rex Gutierrez is awaiting verdict on his trial but he hasn't given up on campaigning. Yesterday, before the senior center candidates forum, Gutierrez was seen on 19th Street near the Upland border, holding up his political sign.
Gutierrez said many of his signs have been stolen in the west side of town, which is why he decided to hold one up himself during early evening rush hour.
"These are the lengths we're going to to make sure we're not losing our signs," Gutierrez said.
The councilman has been anxiously awaiting the jury's decision since Thursday. A verdict could come this afternoon.
"Everyday, you don't know if you could be taken in," Gutierrez said yesterday. "It's like my own personal green mile."
